Course Description

Module 1

You will identify your goals related to anxiety.

You will focus on your unique strengths and identify the support you can use to help you succeed in the program.

You will learn the science of anxiety, understand its causes, and learn how to use it to your advantage.

Module 2

You will discover common unhelpful thinking patterns that can contribute to anxiety.

You will identify your individual unhelpful thinking patterns and understand their impact on your anxiety.

You will acquire strategies to transform your anxious thoughts into more peaceful ones, reducing the frequency of worry.

Module 3

You will explore two essential systems in the body: the fight and flight response, and the rest and digest response, and how they are both associated with anxiety.

You will acquire and practice valuable body relaxation skills to promote calm in your body.

You will learn and practice effective strategies to improve your sleep quality.

Module 4

You will develop an understanding of the mechanisms underlying persistent and intrusive thoughts.

You will acquire and practice mindfulness strategies to mitigate the stickiness of your thoughts.

You will learn and practice techniques to let go of ruminating and dwelling and instead focus on redirecting your attention to more pleasant thoughts.

Module 5

You will learn how to develop and execute a strategy for facing the people, places, and situations you have been avoiding due to fears and anxiety.

Module 6

You will begin to confront a few of the things that you have been avoiding.

You will use the tools you have learned to confront those things with courage and confidence.

Module 7

You will practice the skills you have learned in previous modules. You will receive guidance and support in navigating challenging areas where you feel stuck.

Module 8

You will review and consolidate the skills, tools, and strategies acquired throughout the program.

Q & A time will be available to address any areas requiring specific reinforcement.

You will engage in self-reflection to assess your accomplishments and to support your post-program transformation.

Program Logistics

Weekly live video calls

Each week there is a live call for 60 minutes where you will have a check-in from the prior week and get support around any challenging areas.

You will learn new course material for that module. Each module will be didactic and experiential. You will learn theoretical knowledge and understand how that knowledge applies to you.

You will begin practicing the skills that you learn in each lesson.

You will have the opportunity to have your questions answered.

Skills Acquisition

After each live call, you will have a full week to practice, implement, and reinforce the lessons and exercises that you have learned.

The more effort and time you prioritize to practice the skills, the more transformative your experience will be.

Skills will include a variety of cognitive and behavioral interventions to provide a full spectrum of strategies.

You will receive worksheets for each skill to assist in practicing and tracking your progress.

You will get encouragement and accountability (if you want it) to stay on track during the live calls.

Group Format

The live calls will take place in a small group setting. Many people find it supportive and comforting to see that they are not alone in their anxiety. You will get to hear from other group members who are struggling with anxiety, just like you but there is no requirement to speak up during the live calls (if you prefer to learn through active listening, alone).

  • You are seeking therapy.  This is not therapy it is a learning course that will give you lots of tools and support but if you are seeking therapy then this is not the program for you.

  • There are numerous workbooks and classes you can take but what I offer is my 20 years experience working with countless clients. I also distill lots of material into manageable and digestible information that is easy to apply in your daily life.

  • Not a problem, you will receive a recording and can catch up at any time.

  • In addition to joining the weekly live class, you should allocate 1-2 hours weekly to apply and hone the skills you are learning. This time can be spread out over the week.

  • When you invest in the course, you will get all the information and support you need for your transformation, but ultimately the hard work is up to you. While there are no refunds, there is lots of suport and guidance to help you make the most of the course.
